Crescendo JAZZ - Crescendo

Crescendo JAZZ is an interdenominational, international Christian fellowship of jazz musicians – exchanging issues of life and music and growing together in faith, rooted in local communities and churches – in close connection to professional musicians of other genres.

Who we are and what we do

Crescendo JAZZ is a initiative of Crescendo International, a non-denominational Christian organization serving within the world of professional music and the arts.

Established in 1985, Crescendo is a diverse network of thousands of professional musicians and artists sharing commonality in faith and art.

We work as a international Crescendo JAZZ core team from Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, France and the US.

Our dream is to network, encourage and serve jazz musicians all over the world. You may find more information about our network and our worldwide projects here.

Our Vision & Heart

Network

We want to network jazz musicians who have similar interests. Our approaches

Network musicians via the CML (“Christian Musicians Link”) as a worldwide online network. https://www.crescendointernational.org/en/network.html
We want to create opportunities to meet locally and initiate events for professional musicians to get connected (e.g. via Jam sessions or exchange groups about profession and faith).
We create online events and nurture an active online community via JAZZ Lounges and JAZZunity meetings.
Annually, we create several conferences and conventions, like PERSONANZ.ORG, to meet and share about art, music and faith.

Encouragement

Our main goal is to create a network of mutual support and encouragement.

We are supporting the dialogue of educational institutions in the fields of jazz and theology and working musicians and the churches.
We serve musicians diaconally, in a personal and caring way.
We support community and the exchange of ideas.

Being Salt&Light

Our heart is to communicate faith in many different ways and making Christian accents in our society, such as

Interdenominational services CREATIVE CHURCH & IN SPIRIT with artists specially for people who have become distanced from the church in more and more cities.
Publications, Lectures and Workshops in Conservatories and Colleges of Music,
Festivals (e.g. Night of Faith Basel).

Serving

We want to serve churches, Christian ministries and organisations, by

Initiating Jazz concerts within a liturgical framework and theological reflections.
Offering Soloists and Ensembles for engagements in church services with jazz elements.

Be part of the CML

The Christian Musicians Link (CML) was created to connect every Christian musician in the world. This has been used to contact fellow Christian musicians in a local area, locate musicians to freelance with, or even find a friend to stay with in a new city!

It is important for musicians to be part of a network. Registering for the CML subscribes you to our Crescendo newsletters and adds you to this network, where you can locate other local, national, and international Crescendo members.

Your contact information and data are transferred to the database of „crescendo Deutschland“ which is part of the international network of Crescendo.org. Currently you may find the privacy policy in german only. We have implemented the latest GDPR regulation of the EU and do not make use of your data in any other way than informing you about the work of Crescendo and Crescendo Jazz in particular.
